DIED, At Bathampton, the residence of her father, 29th   January, 1851, Elizabeth third daughter of Richard Lane, Esq., aged 20 years. At his residence, Russell-street, Bathurst, on   Thursday last, of malignant scarlatina Mr. George James Sutherland, of the Union Bank of Austra- lia, aged 24 years. He is much regretted by a large circle of friends and acquaintances. " In the midst of life we are in death."

A young man, named Jaoies Brown, recently in the service of ^the peripatetic pieman, William Dunkley, ' as journeyman baker,! was brought before their Worships on Monday ?last.^charged' with stealing £ 10 1 8s. in cash, arid a qufintity of wearing apparel/ consisting of arpair of trbwsers then upon his person, four shirts, 'two bandkerchiefs.two vests, and a pair of shoes. The prisoner pleaded riot guilty. It appeared from Dunkley's, evidence that he engaged the prisoner on the Friday previous, and that on the evening before, after laying what is technically, termed the sponge, the prisoner advised hi-n to go to bed/and he would call him when, he was wanted. In obedience to his request he retired, but befpre; doing so deposited five sovereigns, five pound/notes, and eighteen shillings in silver in the till of his box, the : prisoner being present at the time. Thb Bonaparte Horspuri.-^-^A letter from Marseilles states that Pierre Bonaparte, representative of the people, and brother of the Prince ofCanino, embarked at that place on the 20th for Corsica.
