Thursday, October 2, 1947 SOUTHWESTERN TIMES Page 9 TEEN TALK By CHARLES TAPLEY . . . Laughing weeks have hit Lamar again as the social clubs have chosen new members who are more commonly known as "pledges." The student body real- ly gets a kick out of seeing these heckled characters being pulled through the mill! For instance: JANE WORLEY of Tawasi writ- ing a 150 word theme on "How Green Is Green" without using the word green at any point. MARION BOONE and JERRY ROSE (more Tawasi's) wearing black veils in mourning for one of the senior member's deceased black cats. BETTY LEE GRAY of Ladaka wearing one sock up and one rolled down (half mast) for a smile she so cruelly stomped to death. Smeared with the *blue of Ramal, BEACH MOTT has been seen do- ing most anything. CHARLES LANGFORD and yours truly are new IRAKI'S and to say the least, proud of it! . . . Pershing dropped its opening game to Jackson on the slim line of six points while Lamar was hum- bled in Lufkin by five points. Th...
