VICTORIA. Melbourne, December 19. Thos.. Tucker-, a well-known athlete, whilst training at the Exhibition Grounds, fell off his bicycle and struck his head heavily on the asphalt. He was removed to the hospital, but died from his injuries. The board appointed to investigate the alleged Bench packing at the Dis trict Court sat to-day. It was stated that Mr Rappiport, J.P., was bribed in a case in which the Foster Brewing Company were defendants.

THE CONSPIRACY CASE. The trial or JL»ean, Mengner, ttreen, and Reynolds was continued to-day, and adjourned. In the Assembly, Mr Crick asked the Premier to set aside a special day to allow of phillipic3 being made against the Attorney-General. Mr Reid deprecated the idea of the case being referred to in Parliament at present, as it might interfere with the case before the Court. Mr Crick, however, said he would bring the matter forward again to-morrow on a question of privilege.
