LAVERTON TENNIS CLUB. TO THE EDITOR. [Newspaper Article] — Werribee Shire Banner — 27 March 1913

LAYERTON TENNIS CLUB. TO THsI EDITOR. Ssn,-What at first appeared to be an amusing controversy of the Laverton tennis club's dinigs, is week by week developing itself Into a duelbetweoon two or three in dividuals. There is one in particular who seems to glory in omitting forth epistles of rubbish, that tend to do a lot of harm both to his club and the prestige of the game. Tennis has always been looked upon as a game followed by a sport loving section who hold tlomn eolvesialoof from the doings and styings of this and that one, but unfdrtunately in Laverton's midst they find an. individual belonging to a newly-formed club, doing his best by foul or other means, to drag the prestige of the game and the club hoebelongs to, down to.the -levý.el kof-htmuffg. = ltll--disguet. I havoe followed olosoly, the contro v?tsy' First we have the report of theisec??'tary's resignation, then we hear from an individual who, in tihe' mlin, resents the concluding i'aingritph of the contributor's re po...

Do you believe in the way Mrs. Pank hurst is trying to get votes ? No, I do not. I do not believe in smashins tip windows, but t do think yo e ought to let us vote. ELECTORAL ENROLMENT. [Newspaper Article] — Werribee Shire Banner — 27 March 1913

ELECTORAL ENROLIMENT. Enquiries have been- recolved, by the Federal Department asking the latest date on which olectors can enrol for the forthcoming elections. The reply 1to this query is that names will be placed on the rolls until the writs for;tlio elections are issued. It was explained by the officials,. .however, that although this time was available,'it was ne cessary for those qualified, to vote to see that they were on the rolls within the time allowed by the. new regulations if they wished to escape the penalties. imposed for failure to register. Under the com pulsory clauses of the Amended Electoral Act passed last year, " Every person who is qualifiefl to be oenrolled, and who is net onrolled, ia compelled to apply for enrol ment within, twOnty-one days after he becomes so qualiftled Thus, at person .who reaches:-thoae o?f'-L" vears, and who is otherwise qualil fled," must apply for. enrolmont within. tvevty one days-..of hjs twenty-first birthday, and a person (otherwis...
