SYDNEY. [Newspaper Article] — The Sydney Gazette and New South Wales Advertiser — 18 May 1806

SYDNEY.                        The Contest came in from King's   Town on Wednesday, with such frag-   ments as were saved from the cargo of       the Governor King. One of the owners who went down purposely to render assistance to the wreck came up in her, and expresses the most lively sense of ob- ligation to the Gentleman in Command at that settlement for the very liberal assistance he was pleased to afford on the distressing occasion; an instance highly   worthy to be ranked among the many that have afforded to His Majesty's   Officers commanding these settlements a   melancholy occasion of testifying the         concern of the Bristish Government in       the welfare of the subject, and the alacrity &amp...

SYDNEY. [Newspaper Article] — The Sydney Gazette and New South Wales Advertiser — 25 May 1806

SYDNEY.       On Tuesday night or early on Wednesday          morning, William Page, the notorious     depredator and bush-ranger, broke     out of the county gaol, and has once     more escaped to the woods. The   unaccountable hardihood of this offender is truly a subject of astonishment:- His repeated flights, and the numerous     depredations committed during his absence,   have as repeatedly devoted him to just and unfortunately too necessary            punishment - though the horrors that accompany the crime are alone sufficient to deter from its commission any that have     once experienced its vicissitudes. This determined criminal effected his escape   from a cell in which he was lodged the   night before for his better security, b...
