EARTHQUAKE.   The following account is by a most reliable gentleman residing in the neighborhood of Hay, who has just re-   turned from an up country journey : —         The writer, travelling from Bourke to Hay via Cobar, on Thursday evening, 3rd inst., was at Corilla, 80 miles north of Cobar, about 8 o'clock p.m. Heard a long   rumbling sound, beginning slow, gradually swelling,   and then decreasing until lost in the distance. Though he had never heard or felt an earthquake, the impression made on his mind was that a shock had been felt, and, as he thought, in the direction of Cobar. Proceeding on his journey he found that, at Tindara, distance 40 miles from Cobar, a shock of earthquake had had been felt causing great excitement; the people rushing out of their house expecting it to fall.
