THE FORTHCOMING 7>ELE<^GN.'.. - ■-:: On Thursday next, the 18th day of December, the electors of the Katan*; ning Roads Board District will he called upon to select three gentlemen from the list of candidates presented to serve ori the Board for the ensuing twelve months. Though perhaps , the amount of interest was not taken j iri the c intost that it warrants, the | result of Thursday's voting produced , several records. The reeord put up by the sen:or candidate exceeds by 58 the totai of any previous poll, and the second on the list juss polled one more than trie previous highest aggre gate, whilst the other candidates all polled heavily. Just 50 per cent, or one-half, the electors exercised their right to vote. Besides the central booth, there were also polling booths at Carrol up—:it which pi-ace nine electors availed themselves of the opportunity affordep I hem of saving a run into town—GHen Cove (22 voters recording), and Woodaniliing (36 voters).
