ALBERTON ROAD BOARD DISTRICT. [Newspaper Article] — Gippsland Guardian — 27 November 1857

ALBERTON ROAD BOARD   DISTRICT.         The annual meeting of the rate payers in this district was held at the Royal Hotel, Tarraville, on Wednesday the 25th inst. and brought together a greater number of persons than we remember to have seen attend any meeting in the district, and when we consider the flooded state of the country and great sacrifice of comfort all must have made to be present, at, the meeting, we have ample proof of a great change for the better amongst the residents.         Shortly, after 11 o'clock G. D. Hedley, Esq. Chairman of the Local Board du-   ring the past year, read the advertisement calling the meeting to elect a chairman. Mr. W. Howden then proposed that   Dr. Hedley take the chair which was seconded by Mr. J. Gellion and carried. The Chairman then announced to the meeting that arrangements had been made for pr...
