Chicago, Feb. 25.—A mob of fifty striking: tanners and their sympathizers attacked a body of non-union men who were leaving the establishment of Eis- endrath & Co., at the foot of Sanga- mon street, Wednesday afternoon. A riot was precipitated, during which three men were stoned and badly beat- en. The police, who came to the rescue in time to prevent a possible murder, fired several shots, and the attacking party was routed. One man was ar- rested. Hhe claims he was a bystand- er, and denies all knowledge of the fight.
