A $25,000 FIRE LOSS. A fire which threatened to be a serious conflagration, wns confined by hard work almost entirely to tho building In which It started, occurred on Thursday evening. The Are was In the factory of the Cambridge I'uper Ko.\ Company which fronts on Portlaud street, near Broadway, and which has n storehouse on Davis street. Tbe lila/.c started In the storehouse. It was discovered by Mrs. Joseph Eliot, who lives at 111-2 Davis street, a two-story double house, which sets back ou an alley adjoining the box factory. She Immediately sent her husband upstairs to rescue the baby and ran to the Kemp soap works nearby and sent In an alarm from box 427.. At 10.88, five minutes later, a second alarm wns rung In.
