California's WondertVil Temple, { la Southern California, in the Coun? ty of San Luis Oblspo, there Is situated one of the most remarkable prehistoric monuments known to tho archaeolo? gists. From a distance it looks llko an immense rock rising, from thej plains of Carlssa, but upon nearer approach 11 Is seen to bo a temple of extraordinary dimensions and of unknown antiquity. Tho Inner court has a lovel Boor 225 feet long and 125 feet wide, and tho celling is from 00 to 100 feet high, ac? cording to situation. Tho building was evidently used by prehistoric man, but for what purpose, and how long since, no one knows.
