Los ANGELES AN ARMY INCIDENT. How aa (Meet's Servant Acted aa tbe "drati Renaas." Aa showing tbe attachment of asm* of tbe military officers' ser vants to tbelr masters, I will relate an Incident which occurred In a garrison town in whlcb the writer was stationed for some time: Au officer of rank In tbe artilleiy was named in garrison orders as tbe officer of the day. As the "grand rounds" It was his duty to visit tbe garrison guards at night. Having eat pretty late at mess and being fond of the bottle, bis gait was Tory unsteady when he rose from tbe table to proceed to his quarters to dress for duty. Before dressing he threw himself on bis bed, say ing: "I'll just snatch an hour's sleep: oall meat 1 o'clock." At 1 o'clock tbe servant at tempted to rouse him, but without effect. Tbe servant got tbe officer upon his feet, shook him, applied wet cloths to his head, but all to no purpose; tbe gentleman had been going on short allowance of sleep for a week, and now nature had taken hol...
