" THE OTHER SIDE.. On Friday night there was a very fair crowd at the Public Hall;- when' Mr J. P_. Clarey, secretary of the, Storemen and Packers' Union, gave the position from the. Anti side. Mr M. Gardinor, of the V.B.U. was chairman, and had an easy job-as hne audience was wholly sympathetic, Mr Clarey remarked that the pro-n posals now before them did not affect himr pervoeaiy, as he was an ineligible for military service. He was not, however, one of those who, being themselves unable to serve, said send the other fellow. The pro' posal as placed before the people demanded the gravest consideration.
