BOROUGH ELECTIONS. CES. SKEATS, NIMMO, AND STEAD, AT THE ORDERLY-ROOM. THE electioneering 'ball, as far as the Hill is concerned, was opened on Tues day night by meetings of the ratepayers at the Orderly-room to hear Messrs. . Skeats, Nimmo, and Stead-and Mr. Page at the Myrtle Hotel. The meeting at the Orderly-room -was largely attended; Mr. Scott pre siding oil the occasion-the boys as usual considerably disturbed the meet ing by playing hide and seek under the platform, but that has come to be such au element of Emerald Hill gatherings that it almost ceases to be an annoyance. In introducing the three gentlemen, and demanding a fair hearing for them, the chairman remarked that there was no stronger nor gratifying proof of sin cerity to ourselves than in testing care fully [the sincerity of those we had sent into the borough Council to re present us, and' he, therefore, hoped that the gentlemen would be listened to patiently and attentively. . Mr. Skeats first presented himself, a...
