Following strong, representations by the War Widows' Craft Guild and the R.S.L., Federal Cabinet last week decided to. increase pensions to war widows with one or two chil drehi. This will mean an extra 7/6 per week. Payments to widows with one,,child will be increased from £3/126 :'to £4 per week, and with two children from .£4/12/6 to £5 per week. Because most ex-service :personnal do.not appreciate the difference be tween a war pension. 'assessment'' and the' "entitlement,". they believe that upon their assessment being re duced to nil that they are no,longer entitled. to_ medical ,benefits .and the *grant of medical sustenance.
