? SIMPLE AIDS TO SANITfi ? ; tion. The extent of urinal accommo dation is necessarily governed by the number of persons likely, to use it, and it is, therefore, im possible to lay down hard-and-fast, rules; but the following description will show how such conveniences can be provided at a comparatively small outlay, and how nuisance can be effectually prevented. ? Cobargo Snow Concert. [Newspaper Article] — The Bega Budget — 24 March 1906

Cobargo Show Concert, Some years- ago Cobargo could boast of some of the best amateur musical performers in the Stale and their services were eagerly sought by orsmnisers of concerts in the surrounding towns. One by one they left and for a time it was impossible to organise a concert of any sort. But once more Cobargo is getting together a number of meritorious performers, and the programme on Wednesday evening was well worthy of the best tradi? tions of the district. Every item was good, and the audience showed its appreciation by listen ing attentively and applauding heartily. Mr. Street announced, each number. The' Budget isn't going to particularise for there were at least half a dozen items which would deserve special no? tico. Following is a complete programme: — . ? Overture-, Jellat Jellat Band. Mr. Bent and the Border Railway. [Newspaper Article] — The Bega Budget — 24 March 1906

Mr. Bent and the Border Railway. Mb. Bent, Premier of Victoria, lins redeemed his promise and visited Bombala for the purpose of col lecting information with regard to the district so ns to be able to form an opinion as to the wisdom or otherwise of building a railway from Bairnsdale to the New South Wales border. This was the first time that a Victorian Premier had visited Monnro, but it is on record that a Premier of New South Wales did, on one occasion, honor the district with his presence. And there it ended, and this part enjoys the unenviable distinction of being the best neglected area of the State. Of course it was not expected that Mr. Bent would commit himself or his Government to anything of a definite character, for his mission was of a purely inspectorial character and one could hardly hope that the Victorian Premier would give the least hint as to his convictions with regard to the future plans of liis Government with reference to the proposal for a railway as sub mitt...
