He mentiooed, atoong other intmsting infor mation, that during the war a British officer Was severely wounded, and was lying helpless under a soorohing sun. A Boer approached him, and seeing he was alive, covered him with bis rifle, with the intention of firing, but 'on the wounded man giving the sign in the 'second degree, the Boer instantly dropped hia rifle, gave hu suffering brother ar drink of water from bis calabash, and carried him to the nearest ambulanoe, where his wounds were duly attended to.
