YANNATHAN. The subscriptions to the Patriotic Fund amounted to £189, and the committee decided to distribute it equally between the Lord Mayor's Fund, the Belgium Fund, and the Red Cross Society. There are a few more donations promised," which will biing the total up to £200. In addition to the above the ladies subscribed £7 and purchased material and made it into clothihg for the soldiors. At a meeting of the Yannathan Sports' Club on Saturday evening Mr. Br. J. Smethurst, who has aoted as seoretary for the past three yaars, tendered his resignation, and Mr. R. L. Currie was appointed in his place. Mr. J. S. Smethurst^ was elected president, Mr. Prior anditor, and Mr. J. Denltolm was re-elected honorary treasurer.

DISTRICT DOINGS. LOls'GWARRY. Some du.ys ago a young tnan named Rpbeit Gapus met with an acoident at Tarago while he was assisting to fell a tree. A branch struck him on the eye, bursting the eyeball. . He was taken to Melbourne for medical treatment. One day last week a lad of 14 years named Frank Toy, son of Mr. George Toy, butcher, met with a painful mishap. He was riding a horso at his feathers slau^hteryards, andv when trying to head a bullock the horse stumbled. Young Toy was thrown violently on to his head, and received a number of contusions. He was unconscious for two days, but has now recovered. He was attended by Dr. Cowen, of Drouin.
