We have, in the face of the largest business we have ever done and with a greater quantity of orders on hand than we cvrr had, increased our advertising: appropri ation For September from $22,000 to $54,000. Our October appropriation has been increased to $60,000. We have notified all our dealers that we will share with them one-half of whatever amount of newspaper advertising they care to do. We are in the position of the merchant who has goods to soil, but who, because his rivals are more firmly established and have a satisfactory prestige, is unable to secure a fair share of the trade, and who awakens some morning to find that the stocks of all his rivals have been destroyed by lire.
