I "^— — —^— ■ The Pacific.— play of Gustavus 3d was performed at this theatre last evening to a full house. The part of Amelia was well sustained by Mrs. Kirby. The character of Gustavus exhibited on the part of Mr. Campbell some excellent points. His enunciation was distinct, and his conception of the qualities which Gustavus possessed was generally correct, and well carried out. ,- The grand Masquerade Ball which succeeded the play of Gustavus, was thinly attended by the fair sex, and but few of the gentlemen appeared in costume. He, of the flowing locks, as handsome and fascinating as ever, called forth the plaudits of the house, by the inimitable grace of his movements in the giddy waltz and bewitching polka, and the lovely young creature who shared with him the admiration of the spectators, seemed perfectly happy while reclining on his arm. i Pelted with Egg?.— Thompson, the notorious English Abolition >. lecturer, was pelted with rotten eggs at Springfield. Massachusetts. He was completely covered over with the precious commodity. This, too, in the presence of a large crowd of spectators, who hooted him with all manner of disapprobatory vociferations. It was with great difficulty and only by the interference of the authorities, that the populate was prevented from perpetrating even more serious chastisement upon him.
