COUNTRY CORRESPONDENCE. UNION. (From a Correspondent.) January 9. [Newspaper Article] — Northern Territory Times and Gazette — 16 January 1875

COPTRY COERESPOIÍDEHCE. UNION. (From a Correspondent.) January 9. . t _:«- 1_ Captain Latty has allowed one or two claimholders to have a trial   crushing of their stone at the pros- pectors' or Union battery. Last week the stone from Starke or " Bis- marck's " claim was crushed, as you know, and from little over seven tons of stone 609 ounces of gold was re torted. This week twjosmall lots   from the Nil Desperandum claims   were runthrough, and from 10 tons of stone nearly 39 ounces of gold were extracted. After getting over their fright they continued their journey, and next roused a mob . ~*iorses. out of which they captúreosme unfortunate little wretch of a foal they brought home.
