LOCAL AND DOMESTIC. POLICE OFFICE. Friday, Oct. 28th.   (Before James Taylor, and F. Nicoll, Esqrs., J.P.'s) William Feeny was brought up in custody, charged with having stolen property in his possession. From the evidence of the prosecutor, C. Lopdell, it appears that he had a quantity of sawn timber on the Main Range. On coming home one evening he missed a great deal of it, principally scantling. He happened to be passing the prisoner's t house in Drayton, and re- cognised a piece of timber in prisoner's yard as a portion of what he had lost. The timber was produced and sworn to by prosecutor and his wife. Lopdell stated that he did not wish to press the charge, and the Bench, after reading over to Feeny the penalties he was liable to for his offence, sentenced him to pay a fine of twenty shillings and costs. The fine was paid. George Hnnt was brought op and charged with ab sconding from the hired service .of Kern, Isaac of Oewrie. Mr. Allport stated that be did not w...
