COLLINGWOOD COURT. TUESDAY, DEC. 12TH. (Before Messrs. Turner, Walker and Barnett, J's.P.) DRUNK AND DISORDERLY. [Newspaper Article] — Fitzroy City Press — 16 December 1882

COLLINGWOOD COURT Tuesday, Dec 12 (Before Messrs Turner, Walker and Parnett Js.P.)     DRUNK AND DISORDERLY William McVea was brought up on remand charged with the above offence. A weeks incarceration and abstinence from stimulants appeared to have had a very beneficial effect upon the prisoner. He was ordered to pay 2s 6d ? expenses and having done so he was discharged.             A most miserable looking old woman named McCormick was charged with having no lawful means of support. The prisoner pleaded that   she had a husband to provide for her, but the evidence of the police went to show that the husband was constantly drunk, that he   earned only a miserable trifle by gathering rags and bottles and that he had no home for either himself or his wife, further that the miserable old woman had been in the habit of sleeping in the open air for months. The...
