THE STEEL HIGHWAYS Condensed News Items ol General Interest to Railroad Men . GATHERED BY THE COURIER Doings oi the Officials and Employes Along the Peoria and Eastern . Among the many improvements , the ; Big tfour will make in Danville during the coming summer , is the round house at Section street , where the turn table now stands . The house will be commenced as soon as the weather is such that the ground can be broken and when it is completed the engines of both the P . &amp; E . and the Cairo divisions will be kept there . The house will not be a complete one but will haveonly enough stalls to accommodate the local and extra engines with additional room for a few of the gravel train engines so that they will not have to stand out in the weather when they are working near that city . The situation shows a decided improvement as values are now on legitimate shipping and export basis for the first time in a long period . It is possible that a great deal more cash business , will prove to have been worked than lias been reported , and it will not take long for sentiment to change decidedly , therefore we feel that purchases should be made around present values as well as on ail recessions .
