Throughout the town, the (luy was observed as a oi:ni;u.u. iiomhay and till thu Government ollleos were closed, the Ministry having given Elections to tltul effect the evening before. The vessels in the hnibour were beautifully decorated with Hags ami bunting, the TJ. S. and Japan ese men-of-war being conspicuous in this tespcot while over the town iloated the Hawaiian, the different Consular, and the American Hags, the latter being leprescntcd by the thousand. The residence of Mrs. Macfarlane on Hotel street was, perhaps, the prettiest of all. Fire crackers and bombs were let off at intervals, and every one seemed to be bent on getting the greatest amount of enjoyment possible out of the 2 1 hours of the day.
