A.1UZ0NA Sentinel. SATURDAY. APRIL 19, 1S79' An 3nemy to Southern Arizona--Jtudiaii Sensations A Mint to Prescott. It is deplorable that the Enter prise newspaper, of Prest-ott, should have deemed it proper to fabricate sensational predictions of another Indian outbreak in this Territory. The gentleman now in charge of that journal has not had the experience in Ari zona which would entitle to con sideration his views on the Indian question. Yet he writes of a fancied danger with all the con fidence of an old frontiersman, and' of an old resident of our country. Having recently returned from a flying trip into the 'eastern part of this Territory, during1 which we roil versed freely with manj'i old Arizonians now residing some 200 miles nearer to the Apache Indians than does the Prescott editor, we can truthfully state that ntapprehension$'f any out break isVelt among rpople in the im media Ni viciniryof those In dians. Arizona Sentinel. SATURDAY, APRIL 26, 1879 "All Kail" to Tucson! As foreseen, and announced to the public by the Sentinel two weeks ago, the Southern Pacific Railro.id is being extended be yond Maricopa. Grading; parties have been at work east of that place for nearly two weeks, and have already made marked pro gress. Bails and ties continue to be rushed forward, although more thau enough are already at the front, to complete all the side tracks, etc.y that could possibly be required at Maricopa. No more talk is being made about hot weatherj reminiscences are being called up by old hands of how much hotter it was while they were laying track in the San Joaquin Valley than it ever gets in Arizona; and how the heat there did not in the least inter fere with grading or track-laying. It can be safely predicted that the track will be within fifty miles of Tucson by the Fourth of July or sooner. The country is high ly favorable to cheap and rapid construction. A better idea of this can be...
