The Treasury Department has Issued circular to the Collectors ut the prin cipal ports Instructing them to cure fully observe existing regulations which prevent importation of neat cattle hides from a country where the hoof and mouth disease is prevalent. The Department received Information that this disease had aain broken out lu the Argentine Republic. The Southern Claims Commissioners to-day heard testimony hi regard to the claim of Elizabeth A. Uould, of Alexandria, for 823,875 for wood cut by the army on the Potomac, river near Washington.
