BORGLUM WILL MAKE STATUE OF THE CHRIST Gutzon Borgluni, internationally famoua sculptor, Is planning a 3 2- foot statue of Christ which, when completed, will be erected in Cor- pus ChriBti bay a short distance beyond the breakwater. The erec- tion of this statue will be a part of' the Corpus Christi bp.y front heautiflcation program now in pro- fit-ass. Uorglum stated that the feet of the collossal figure would be only a few Inches above the changing: tides so th&t this statue of Christ would seem to be walking upon the water, and that his hand would bp up- raised—quieting the storm. According to Borglum's concep- tion, all thought of suffering and sacrifice will be kept out of the in- terpretation.
