A match between the above clubs" was played on the Dialmond Creek Recreation Reserve on Saturday last, and after a good friendly ganme resulted in a win for the locals by two goals or twelve points. Owing to the heavy rain on the previous evening the ground at one end was very sloppy, which lmade the hall very slippery to handle, and kicking off lthe gronnd was much the order of the day. This was the first match of thile season for the Katngarooites, who appeared to bhe the heiaviest teamI of the two, and it was pileaiing to notice that they played the game without any display of roughnesos, although at times some of them might have put a little more dash in their play to ad vantage. The Creekites also played thie game in the right spirit, sand were satisfied to play for the hall. Mr. J. Rose acted efficiently as field umpire, while Messrs. W. P. Parker and C.
