Important. [Newspaper Article] — Alexandra and Yea Standard and Yarck, Gobur, Thornton and Acheron Express — 3 December 1909

Important. Concerning some parts of the district news comes but seldom. This is not the fault of the Editor, for he has no mrracu lous power of knowing what is happening in all the area of circulation. It is the fault of residents in the silent places. Will some man or woman take the matter in hand and cause the silence to cease % If no one else is doing it for your dis. trict will YOU try on theso lines? Send accounts of public and social events in your township or neighborhood, such as weddings, deaths, accidents. con certs, matters touching the industries, etc. - Write your name in some corner ; not for printing, but for good faith. Write the names of persons very dis tinctly. Do not bother about grammsr or spelling; it is the Editor's work to look after these trifles. The barest skeleton is enough. Write on one side of the paper only. Give information but let criticism I aloae.

St. John's Church Fair. [Newspaper Article] — Alexandra and Yea Standard and Yarck, Gobur, Thornton and Acheron Express — 3 December 1909

St. John's Church Fair. On Wednesday and Thursday of last week a most successful fair and sale of gifts was conducted in the shire hall, in aid of building funds of Anglican Church rectory. As stated ill our last issue, the attendance was large and great interest evinced. The fair, we are informed, was initiated and carried out by the Ladies' Guild, and the members of which are to be congratulated on the success attained. The members of the denomirnation, under the supervision of the guild, have been working for many months and must be fully satistied at the result of last week's effort. There is no need to remind the public why funds are needed by the manage. ment of the local Anglican Church, as almost every person knows well that a rectory is required in place of the old and dilapidated building recently razed to the ground under circumstances that need not be orentioned here. The church authorities, or, rightly speaking, the Imembers of the denomlna tion are paying rent for a dw...
