It is unnecessary lo tell the people of Kansas that last year -was disastrously droutby, esnecially in the eastern half of the state. The crops in this most favored and rich valley did not reach hardly half a yield. The record kept at the State Uni versity by Prof. Snow, teils the -whole truth. These records show that the entire rainfall, including melted hiov, was 21.23 inches, -which is 11.02 inches below the an nual average. Either rain or snow, or botii, in measure-able quantities, fell on 103 da-? one less than the average. On 13 other days rain or snow fell in quan tity too small for measurement.
