McEnry has issued a quaran tinl proclamation against several towns from the Mexican ports. The Mississippi Valley Route offer to sell round trip tickets at $4.70 on 20th to New Orleshs. A cyclone struck Denison Texas on the night of 21st, over a dozen residences were damaged. Two business houses were unroofed; the only casualty that of a woman sup posed to be fatal. The Treasurer of the United States has tendered his resignation to take effect May 19th; C.N Jordan formerly eashier of the Third National Bank of New York was appointed Treasur er as his successr. Mrs. Turner, who sued the Vicks burg and Shreveport Railroad for $7,500 damages for injuries inlicted 1 has obtained a verdict for $1,000. Vicksburg Herald: The largest train of the season arrived at Delta yesterday evening, on the V., S. & P. 1 railroad. There were six coaches, containing 287 passengers for New Orleans, via Queen Crescent. On this big train Capt. T. L. Fleming wa conductor, George Morrison, en gineer, and Charles E. Cash, baggage master. Mr. W. S, Belknap, super intendent of the V. & M., met the ferry with three coaches and brought them up the incline. There were over 100 in sigh...
