Nether land had arrived created a stir among the people of Nashville, yesterday, that re sulted in the amemblage of a large crowd at the Court House last night, to see and hear him speak. Upon the suggestion of Capl. Foster, a large portion of the audience called upon Cot Netherland at the hotel, to signify to him the desire of the people to hear him. He promptly, complied with the request, and on entering the Court. House .was greeted with a round of applause that continued until he reached the stand and commenced his speech. . ,. Col. Netherland is a fine looking man of apparently fifty years of age. ' Jle is of.a very tall and commanding appearance. His physiognomy excites expectations of ability and Comprehensiveness of intellect that his ideas and language fully sustain.
