Whig Meeting at Fostcr'B Bar. At a meeting of the Whigs of foster township, held pursuant to notice at the EL Dora- J do on Foster's Bar on Thursday, the Bth day of May instant, on motion of *O. P. BY THIS MORNING'S BOAT. Through Freeman & Co.'s Expreas. The Senator arrived at her landing thia morning at 2 o'clock, bringing us the Bay papers, from which we extract the following: Wm. Lawley. arrested for the murder of Carmelita, a Chilean girl, who lived with him as his mistress, died in the hospital yesterday morning of the wound inflicted by himself after killing the girl— [Alta. Daring Robbery. — A gentlemen who was burned out in the recent fire, by the name of A Delephine, took lodgings at the Golden Gate Hotel on North Beach. He furnished his room with a safe, into whioh he phiced his cash. Night before last, an aceomplishcd villian entered his room, and by means of false keys opened his safe and took $2,500, Win Slater, charged with the murder of, Capt. Jarvis, has been discharged from custody, the reasons urged by his counsel for such a, course were so satisfactory, that no opposition was offered by the Distriot Attorney.
