L That ml) owners, occupant*, and lessee# of any store, ware-boose, dwelling or other building, in which stoves or gratea are used, shall extend the pipe, or cause the same to he done, at least twenty-low inches from the oatward aide the building, and the same distance above the eaves; and where said pipe passes throogh any board or canvas partition siding or roof, it shail be through some metal plate, with a margin of at least twelve inches on either side of the pipe, leaving a space of eight inches between the pipe and the partition, siding or roof through which it passes.
