On Prince of Wales' Birthday^ the com mittee and children met on the ground, and despite the wintry con ditions of -the afternoon there was a good -attendance. There are two swings, eleven feet high, of galvan ised 3 -inch chain, with wnnitpn eenta strongly bolted. They will stand for many a year for the youngsters' plea sure. The honor of declaring the swings open was allotted to Mesdames Fin layson and Hopkins, who spoke of the generous assistance of all those who were reponsible for the erection of the swings, and hoped that they would have many an enjoyable time. BERRIMA COAL MINES. [Newspaper Article] — Robertson Mail — 4 July 1924

BERRIMA COAL MINES. Loch Catherine Colliery, Limited, Berrima, have sent a consignment of small coal to Newcastle for coke testing purposes, and if it proves successful a large coking company there will take all the slack coal. If this deal eventuates it will ex plode the old saying, 'like taking coal to Newcastle.' On a small test this coal makes first class coke. This may be the forerunner of the estab lishment of ironworks in the district, and big things may be expectcd, ! which would benefit Berrima,' Moss Vale, Bowral and Mittagong.
