For a similar offence     agravated by disorderly conduct, Elizabeth   Watkins, Hugh Lamph, and Thomas Ryan were, each fined 20s. FIGHTING.—Colin McIntosh was brought up charged with fighting in an oyster saloon. The     case was dismissed.     INDECENT EXPOSURE.—Thomas Murnane   charged with having indecently exposed his person in a public place, was fined £3.

VICE ADMIRALTY COURT. FRIDAY, JULY 1. BEFORE his Honor Chief Justice Cockle. RE SHIP VERNON. The answer to the petition of promoters and the replication to that answer were put into court. By consent, the hearing of the argu- ments of counsel was postponod until to-morrow (this day). The ATTORNEY-GENERAL and Mr. LILLEY in supporting the postponement, stated that the arguments would be very brief, and that the question was simply as to the power of the cap- tain to hypothecate his cargo under the oircum- stances. The court adjourned until this day (Saturday).

In all kinds of farm produce suitable for horso fodder there is an upward movement, owing to tho destruction of crops by tho late floods in New South AVales. A cargo of maize from tho Macleay changed hands yesterday at 5s. 3d. per bushel. Hay, luceme and oaten, is quoted at £13 10s. to £1*. There is no altera- tion in general merchandise 'calling for special notice. The following are tho current rates of bank charges:-Discount: Under 95 days, 8 per cent. ; under 125 days, 9 per cent. ; over 125 days, 10 per cent.
