OUR ESSAY. SUCCESS AND HOW TO OBTAIN IT. (CONTINUED.) [Newspaper Article] — Chronicle and North Coast Advertiser — 29 February 1904

OUR ESSAY. SUCCESS AND IHOW TO OBTAIN' IT. (Bv. Seci'n*dus.! (Continued.) To know how to use knowledge to tlie best advantage will add much to make life a success, but unless we put our whole heart into the work we want to do we shall not prosper. We must put what is commonly called 'i?o' into everything we undertake i£ we want to succeed. Budgett'saphorisin is hard to be beaten— '? tact, push, and principle.' Tact is simplv applied skill or knowledge and sticking to the business of our choice. Push means ''go':: it seems only another expression for perseverance or energy, both of which are! indispensable in every pursnit of life. They are closely allied to j eich other, and, although expressed dif- ; ferently, they dean partly the same I thing. For 'convenience we will class ! them all together and elaborate from ] them the needful counsel to put some | ' go' into our lives. The indifferent way some people perform the tasks of life gives palpable evidence of the want of' energy and...

District News. Yandina. [Newspaper Article] — Chronicle and North Coast Advertiser — 29 February 1904

Iptetrirt lU^wss, (By Oor Own Correspondents. ) Yandina. The usual monthly meeting of the Yandina-Maroochy Progress Asso ciation was held in the Excelsior Hall.Yandina, on Saturday evening last, there being a fair attendance of members and the general public. The president ( Mr. T. M'Nab') read a paper on the aims and objects of the association, which was atten tively listened to, and his wish that along and useful life might be accorded to the new-born effort v/as heartily endorsed. Messrs. .Murdo Thomson, A. W. Bowder, C. Ablin, W. F. Burton, A. J. Potts, and others said a few words on the sub ject, and Mr. Hoey created a little diversion by suggesting that the' association should look after the roads. &c, and the reception given to this suggestion should lead the ' committee into a useful line. It may be well in this connection . to state that the association is not formed to take over the duties of the shire council, or for the present to act as a distributing centre. Th...

TO THE EDITOR. [Newspaper Article] — Chronicle and North Coast Advertiser — 29 February 1904

i To the Editor. Sir,— In your issue of last week your Buderum -correspondent stated that redwater had broken out amongst Messrs. J. K. Burnett and Sons' cattle, which statement was quite correct ; but as regards the time of the outbreak and the use of' Mr. Kleis's redwater cure without success, I must say that he was en tirely out of it. It would have been better had your correspondent interviewed Mr. J. K. Burnett or his sons on the matter, as such a statement is liable to do greatin jury to Mr. Kleis in the sale of his powders, and, at the same time, prove misleading to .tne public. We have found the powders to cure cattle of tick lever and redwater, and we also found out (as Mr. Kleis gave us to understand) that it must be given at the right time. The beast has first what is termed tick fever, the temperature rising as high as 108 degrees. It is whilst in this stage that the powder should be given- as per instructions with same. If you do not notice the beast in the stage of fev...
