I N the vote for subordinate roads which lias passed the House of Parliament, we see no mention made of the road between Booligal and ^Wilcannia, and.especially that part of it next to the former town. We hiivo directed the attontion of tho authorities to tho dan gerous condition of this road for the last twelve months and upwards, and as yet nothing lias been done to render it safe for travelling on. There are eight and twenty creeks to cross in the short space of ten miles, and several of those are swimmablo during tho winter, Tho mail coach upset in one of thorn about twelve months ago, and two : females, who wore passengers, very narrowly escaped being drowned, aftor having beoii carried a considerable. distance down the stream by tlio force of the current. RAMBLING NOTES BY A LITERARY BUSHMAN. No. III. [Newspaper Article] — The Riverine Grazier — 26 May 1875

ItAMBLING NOTES BY A LITERACY ? BUSHMAN. By J. Jasimor W ? s. No. III. In my wnndcrmgH I am frequently assailed by well meaning people who boast of the superiority in many thiugp, ifnot m every respect, of the colony of Victoriato that of New South Wales. I join issue with them, and' argue iu favour of this colony, and would even go so far as tho hon. Henry Parkes, who declares that ere lonff New South Wales must be admitted to be the Premier colony ol the Australasian group. New Zealand and Queensland are ruunin^ a good race for second and third places. The territory of Victoria is, ntter all, very restricted— a mere corner—while New oouui vvaies can ooasc, alter all the ' separations,' of 3^3,437 square miles. Think of that, my noble corn stalks! you have a room and verg'e enough' for develop ment. And, cateris paribus , New tiouth Wales is, even now in a far more prosperous state -than the much-bclaudcd gold-bearing colony. The estimated^ revenue of New South Wal^s for the curreu...
