Michael Cregan deposed-I am a police constable, stationed at Hawthorp. '3etween twelve and one o'clock on the, th instant the prisoner was given into my -custody by Andrew Scott, charged with embezzling cer tain sums of money. On taking theprisoner to the lockup and searching him 1 found nothing in his possession except the piece of paper 1 now produce. The prosecutor stated to me that the prisoner had received money and given receipts, but failed to account for it.
