The entertainment under the auspices of the St. John's Recreation Club in the Odd fellows' Hall on Wednesday evening last was a great success, everything going off with the utmost smoothness. The attendance was not as large as tbo performance merited, but those who were present were, rewarded with a first-class evening's amusement. The programme opened with that humorous breach ot promise ensu uy 'Bardell versus Pickwick,' which was splendidly staged, and reflected great credit on those taking part. According to tho handbills and advertise-' ments issued by the Railway Commissioners it would appear that complete arrangements ha?e been made for tho transit of passengers during the Christmas holidays. Ammlvciraiiiry Services at Sntton Forest. On Sunday last Anniversary services wore held in the Presbyterian church, Sutton Forest. The church was very beautifully decorated. Mrs. Andrew D. Budgery made the principal designs which adorned the church, including an artistically worked floral harp, anchor and cross. Misses Nicholson worked a very handsome cross of white liliums, nnd other flowers were very nicely arranged by Miss Fyfo and Mrs. and Misses Norris, Mrs. Ponder and Mrs. Bell. There was a fair congregation. Lord Jersey ac companied by Lord Villiers attended, but the unfavorable weather kept many from being present. The singing of the choir was very good aud the hymns appropriate. Mrs. A. D. Badgery kindly lent her American organ, over which Miss Fyfo ably presided.
