The discourse, like everything Mr. Curtis has to say, was filled with graceful and forcible- , [suggestions as to " The Way of Peace," and the Musical Fund Hall never contained a larger, more intelli gent or more attentive audience. But when the speaker vindicated the moderation, ~_m wisdom and ripe statesmanship of the Eresident, the enthusiasm of every hearer was most cordial. He declared that Mr. Jancoln was true to his best instincts in countermanding the Emanci pation orders ' Of Fremont and Hunter, and that the time was just ripe when his own Proclamation «f Freedom was issued. HANCOCK'S CO-PS By an advertisement in another column it will be seen that Brigadier-General Gibbon is still paying five dollars premium for every recruit sent to the Broad and Cherry Street Hospital, for regiments of the 2d Corps (Sancock's). This is a premium above all other bounties, and is paid to the recruit himself if he enlists at the recruiting rendezvous at Broad and Cherry Street-Hospital, or the amount is paid to any recruiting agent who delivers recruits at that place. It is an additioninducement to eater this gallant corps, which has already distinguished itself on bo many fields. .
