His forces have united with thoss of Schofield and Terry and the whole are about Goldaboro'. Several bard fights have occurred, in which Johnston was defeat ad, with hoavy-loss. The rebels, as usu al, claim brilliant victories, but somehow they always result in their forces retreat ing. Ere this, Sherman has probably reached Raleigh. From Richmond and vicinity, we have stirring news. Some sharp fighting has taken place. The rebels attacked one of our works, and captured it, with a large number of prisoners; but on their way to tbe rebel lines, nearly every man broke loose and escaped. Oar forces rallied m and retook the works, driving out the rebels, with heavy loss.v At another point, onr forces attacked a rebel work, captured it, and turned tbe enemy's guns npon them.
