Suge John Hall deserves cred it for the important improve ments lie lias had progressing lately on the road between Earl ingtoii and Madisonville over which goes by far the most im portant traflic and the most travel of anyroad in the county. Fills and culberts have been wid ened, grades reduced and the .road straightened. Now, through the co-operation fif the Monarch Goal Company, the road is being greatly widened through the property of that company and well graded and ditched. The leveeulong Polk Merrill's field is elevated and strengthened and the'brush cutout along the wa ter course in the ell'ort to get the road bed above the Hood mark for the winter. One hardly rec ognises the former narrow track beside t lie present wide road.
