PETERSBURG Russian Strikers, Following the Crucifix and Marching to Present Humble Petition to the Emperor, Are Met With and Mowed Down by Volleys Fired by Soldiers-Snow Stained Wih Blood. St. Petersburg, Jan. 22.?At least 500 men, women and chil? dren, possibly several thousand, fell today before the fire ot the Emperor's troops. An army of strikers was in open conflict with 50,000 troops, and it was a day of unspeakable horror, the beginning of a reign of terror and perhaps a revolution.
