It appears that a gentleman named Filling, who baa been residing here for aoma time for Ills health, lnbisram bles along tbe beach, some months ago caw tha oolor of gold in tbe ■and, and on prospeotlug found tbat It yielded a few hits to tbe pan. It has been deemed eminent ly proper, heretofore, tbat any so cial pariahs that tbe Flowery Kingdom desired to be rid of should be forwarded to these hos pitable shores, it only being stipu lated that their bonce should be re turned when no longer required for purposes of locomotion. It seems that the programme is to be modified somewhat. Lepers in an advanced etage of decomposition are no longer to be permitted to jostle along the crowded sidewalks of Ban Francisco, or make them selves at home in our ferryboats and street-cars. Tbey are to go back to China. As a rule they are destitute, otherwise an ap peal to the judicial powers of tbe land would doubtless be in order.
