Mahone's Vote and Denial. Senator Mali one writes a letter to Mr.. M. M. Moorman, of Lynchburg, Va., explanatory of his vote by which the bill permitting I)r. A. S. Tebbs, a (lonfederate soldier, to enter the military service of the United States was defeated. We shall be ablo to prove that Senator Mahone has deliberately and intentionally deceived his friend Major Moorman, and through him the people of the State of Va., and that in order to do so he has been guilty of a deliberate and intentional falsehood. In order that Mr. Mahone's position may be clearly understood we briefly state the case. The bill was comprised in a single paragraph, providing "that Dr. A. Sidney Tebbs, of Lynchburg, Va., be and is hereby relieved from the operation of section 1218 of the lie vised •Statutes."
