Pipkin triple winner in LA triangle meet Daryl) Pipkin galloped to his fastest sprint times of the season last Saturday to lead the Cal State College (LA) track team to an 85H-73H-13 win over San Francisco State and Cal State at Hayward, respectively, in a triangular meet on the San Francisco State oval. Pipkin recorded times of 9.7 and 21.6 in the 100 and 220. and had a hand in the Diablo's winning mile relay team which clocked 3:19.1. Aside from the speedy sprinter’s performances, some other top times were recorded for the Cal State at LA thinciads. Dave Kemp strode the half-mile in 1.53.4 finishing ahead of sec-ond-place teammate Jim Rode, who did 1:59.0.

Diablos host top team Fresno State After one of their most disappointing weeks of the season, the Cal Stale (LA) Diablos will host the present California Collegiate Athletic Association leaders Fresno State (3-0) in a three-game weekend series. The set will open with a 7:30 p.m. night game on Cal State’s El Sereno diamond on Friday night and the two teams will return to the same site on Saturday for a double - header starting at noon. Last week saw the nation’s ninth-ranked Diablos lose three straight one-run ball games.
