Ball speak in behalf of his candidacy for governor, the stage was filled with his fellow townsmen, all prominent dtifcens and many of them anti prohibitionists. Scott president of the First National Bank, and Colonel Ball Saa introduced by Judge Otis amblen, who stated that he would vote for Colonel Ball for governor and against statewide .prohibition. It is learned that the constitutionalists de- livered a determined attack on the port beginning at four o'clock this morning. Mr. Jones hasn't said he didn't make such a con- tribution. However, even if he did, he doesn't 'give enough. The rent Mr. Jones derives from the saloon conducted in the Rice hotel justifies a much larger con- tribution, -Sealy News. Just why representative news- papers will occasionally drop in- to the practice of scavenger work, we fail to understand. Why cannot a campaign for the high office of governor of Texas ha conducted without muck raking and nasty flings of the above sort?
