COUNTY CONVENTIONS IN TEXAS Saturday Were Progressive vs. Reao tionary—Two Splits Are Impor- tant—Ramsey Men Awake and Active in North Texas. Battling for the control of the party Machinery, county conventions were held throughout the State Saturday and delegates elected to the State con- vention. It was progressive against reactionary. In South Texas the counties, large and most of the small, elected solid Colquitt delegations, notably in Bexar, Jefferson, Harris and Travis. Hays county, long in the prohibition ranks, eaw a split, the Colquitt and Ramsey delegates holding separate conven- tions. This was true in Hill county, in North Texas, also a prohibition county.
